We love sailing, being outdoors, playing with the elements, sharing our knowledge, teaching skills, interact with people, enjoy cultural exchanges, having a good time. We also want to make sure that you have the best experience possible out there in the ocean while guaranteeing your safety and well beeing. We are not only VDWS certified but also trained lifeguards including CPR & First Aid.

Rainer

Rainer, kam über die Handelsschiffahrt (Christliche Seefahrt) auf das Wasser, vier mal umrundete er nach Meilen den Planeten. Im Jahr 2003 absolvierte er erfolgreich eine Ausbildung in der Yacht Akademie Axel Schmidt, zum Wassersportlehrer und Stationsleiter in den Bereichen Catamaransegeln, Windsurfen und Jollensegeln. Nach dieser Weiterbildung leitete er erfolgreich Stationen in Europa.

Rainer: “Ich freue mich darauf, Euch auf dem Wasser weiter zu bringen oder Euch den Einstieg zu ermöglichen. Ein Austausch der Segelerfahrungen bringt auch mich als Lehrer immer weiter!”

Jan

Jan started sailing back in the nienties while he was studying in Zurich. After working in several startups he decided to pursue a musical career for about 10 years. Now he came with his family to Portugal, bought a Hobie 14, and had it stationed at Sailcompany. After helping out at the station sailing checkups with clients Rainer started training him to be an instructor and he’s successfully trained many sailors since.

Jan is fluent in german, english, french and portuguese and can teach in all those languages.

Johnny

Johnny is our local. He’s here to help wherever he can and is our watchful eye when we’re out on the baots. He makes sure everything is in order in and around the station, while attending to guests and paying atention to our guests and especially their kids, when they are out on the water. Johnny is a true beach man, who grew up in a little dwelling right on Meia Praia. He knows Lagos and it’s surroundings inside out – and everybody knows him. When he’s not sailing he’s riding his bike or goes commercial fishing with his uncle, in the same good mood and charismatic as he is at our station.
